Selecting the dots of one or several shapes in a scene is a prerequisite for the execution of certain functions linked to the editing of shapes. Selecting several dots of a shape can be done in two different ways: by pressing on the SHIFT key or by extending a "lasso". The latter method is particularly useful when several dots are located in a same area, for example the dots of a curved portion. If there are several shapes in the scene, the shape whose dot has just been selected becomes the active shape.
Click on the inside of the empty sqaure that marks the shape's position. The empty square will then become a full square, indicating that it has been selected. When you select a shape's dot, previously selected dot or dots become automatically unselected.
1. Press on the SHIFT key and keep it held down. The software will now be in mutiple selection mode. 2. Click inside an empty square that marks the position of one of the dots that you want to become selected. If the dot is already selected, it will become unselected. 3. Repeat step 2 until you have selected all the dots that you wanted to select. 4. Release the SHIFT key.
1. If you wish to conserve already selected dots, press on the SHIFT key and keep it pressed down. 2. Place the mouse cursor in the corner of the "lasso" that you wish to throw. 3. Without releasing, press on the left mouse button. 4. Drag the mouse cursor in the direction of the opposite corner of the "lasso". 5. The mouse cursor will transform into a hand for selection and an "elastic", dotted rectangle will appear on screen. 6. Release the left mouse button when the "lasso" entirely surrounds the points you want to select. 7. Repeat steps 2 to 7 until all the dots that you wanted have been selected (SHIFT key pressed down). 8. Release the SHIFT key if you have been keeping it pressed down since the beginning. Only the current shape's dots can be selected with the "lasso". Additionally, be sure that you the shape whose dots you want to select is the active shape before "throwing out your lasso".
